Reinke’s Farm and City Service, Inc. is a three-generation family owned business that began in 1947 in a 30’ x 150’ foot building in Neligh, NE serving the community with J.I. Case, Pontiac, and Briggs and Stratton lines. In the 1950s, Massey Harris was added and Ferguson tractors were added in 1951. In 1963, Reinke’s made the move to strictly agricultural implements. Shortly after this, between 1965 and 1966, Snapper implements started making their way around the community. As Reinke’s was continuing to expand their lines and service to the Neligh community and beyond, they were busting at the seams in their establishment in town. In 1979, Reinke’s made the move just east of Neligh city limits on 7 acres, with the main building 60’x160’. An additional storage building was added north of the main building and there was a lot for the equipment. From this point, the company continued to expand to reach the needs of the farming and town communities. They were the second dealer of a haying company called MacDon in Nebraska, adding in 1989. In 1990, Agco formed and in the late 1990s Stihl, a popular small outdoors line, was added. Today, Reinke’s has continued to grow selling and servicing various lines to meet the needs of its customers.
